Hirotaka Okada Visit

Tuesday 10th July - Wednesday 18th July


UWA Judo Club is hosting Olympic medalist, 2x World Champion and 3x All Japan Champion, Hirotaka Okada (8th Dan) from July 9th to 18th.

We invite all WA Judoka to join the practices.


Okada Sensei will attend all UWA Judo classes as follows:

Tuesday 10th : 6pm to 8:30pm*

Thursday 12th : 6pm to 8:30pm*

Saturday 14th : 2pm : 5.30pm * Master Class

(Junior Program 2pm : 4pm / Senior 4pm : 5.30pm)

Tuesday 17th : 6pm to 8:30pm*

Wednesday 18th : 5:30pm to 7pm*

This is an opportunity to practice under one of the great Japanese Judoka.


Please see we will hold a Special Kid’s Class under the guidance of Okada Sensei (8th Dan ), on Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm, July 14th. All WA Junior Judoka are welcome. I hope you and your children can join this incredible opportunity for WA Judoka.


The Senior Master Class will be held straight afterwards so there is also an opportunity for the Children to see the senior training. We will have to charge a small mat fee on this one.

Beginners Competition

Sunday 17th June 2018

Weigh-in: 9:30 am

Competition start: 10 am

This tournament is focused on giving new competitors the opportunity to learn and experience the rules and procedures of a judo competition in a friendly, fun and supportive atmosphere.

A short rules seminar and interactive demonstration will be held immediately prior to the competition beginning.

Online registration is required prior to the event. Registrations close on Thursday 14th June.

This is the most amazing acknowledgement for JUDO and of the UWA Judo Club's many successes this year, from the UWA Sports Association and UWA's community as a whole.

Judo is a little known sport among the Western Australian lovers of Football, Cricket, Rugby, Swimming and Hockey, who have all done incredible .......
